n

There have been requests for items from the catalog.  It was suggested that we pass the catalog around at the next couple meetings to gather any other items desired and a single order be made.

n

The status of honorary memberships was discussed.  We have two for the Club, Gordon Persons and Pearl Vinson.

n

There was a discussion about awarding service awards for years of membership.  It was agreed that we should revisit this later to decide what levels should be recognized, such as 5 year, 10 year, etc.

n

Arline Robinson has submitted a request for a leave of absence due to work considerations.  Paige Hibbits moved she be granted a six month leave, Bob Gaboury seconded, passed.

n

Bill Adams and Don Medley will be attending the Division Conference in Reno.  It is estimated that each will experience approximately $700 expenses.  On return, they will report expenses for possible partial reimbursement.

n

Cal-Nev-Ha requests the names of persons to be considered Distinguished Kiwanians.  There are at least five in our Club at the present.  Moved by Linda Thayer-Gaboury, seconded by Marge Leszczynski that we recognize all who are eligible.  Passed.

n

Several items from the leadership training activity was reported including some ideas for speakers and  housekeeping activities for the incoming board.

n

The annual Governor’s visit to the Division will be on Sunday, January 27, 2008.
n

The Lt. Governor’s (Fred Robinson) is planned for Mid September.  Probably the 15th or 16th.

n

The budget for the Lt. Governor was presented.  He is asking for a $15 per member contribution from each Club.  It was noted that this was an amount the Club has traditionally contributed and we should consider continuing to do so.

 Unfinished Business:

Walt Metcalf  asked Bill Adams the status of the plans for the Club installation dinner.  After discussion, it was decided that an ideal date for the function would be Saturday, October 6, 2007.  Bill will check on facilities and report back.

Walt Metcalf asked Bill to consider early appointments for committee chairs.  Bob Gaboury suggested that Bill check the website for a list of the committees.  Of particular note is a need for a budget.  A committee of Bill Adams, Paige Hibbits,  Bob Gaboury, Cecilia Rexford, and Walt Metcalf will meet at a time to be determined.

There was a discussion about speaker topics and how to possibly brief speakers.

Sandra Walker, a member of the Chamber of Commerce Board needs help on Saturday, August 11, 2007 with the Art & Jazz festival.  A sign up sheet will be passed at the August 7,  2007 meeting.
