BOARD OF DIRECTOR’S
MEETING
____May 30, 2007____
CALL TO ORDER: President Walt Metcalf called the meeting
to order at 7:05 p.m. Location: Metcalf home.
PRESENT : Walt Matcalf, Don Medley, Bob Gaboury, Linda
Thayer-Gaboury, Cecilia Rexford, Carole Warren, Darryl
Sobelman, Allen Grizzard-Paul, Sandra Burkhart, Guest - Joe
Dilibert, John Muller.
Cecilia Rexford moved that the minutes from April, available
on the website, be approved, Darryl Sobelman seconded -
passed.
TREASURERS REPORT: Administrative account;
Income $1615.00, Expenses $1242.61

Don Medley Reported:
-Letter from the Pleasant Valley Historical Society thanking
Kiwanis for our past support and requesting current dues
payment. Don Medley to call for dues amount.
-Letter from Conejo Valley Club thanking us for support of
their First Anniversary Celebration.
-We received a list of speakers from the Moorpark Club. The
list was given to Carole Warren.
General Business.
-Bob Gaboury reported that Cynthia Brown, Robin Hatter, and
Tania Mandernacht are three months behind in dues payments.
There was discussion about dropping these members. Bob
Gaboury reported that the dues for Cynthia and Robin have
been paid in the past by the CYA but that is no longer
true. He will discuss this with them.
-Sandra Burkhart (the sponsor for Tania Mandernacht) moved
that Tania be dropped, Darryl Sobelman seconded, passed.
Don Medley to send a letter confirming the action.
-Darryl Sobelman reported that he had seen Harry Goldsmith
on the golf course and that Jerry had confirmed that he
(Jerry) should be dropped.
Old Business:
-Joe Dilibert reported that there is a recall on selected
car seats. He has checked with the fire department and we
are OK.
New Business:
-Carole Warren reported that there will be a National Cancer
Survivors Day luncheon on June 7, 2007 -1:00 pm at the
wellness center located at Hampshire and Townsgate in
Thousand Oaks. The Thousand Oaks Club will be preparing the
meal.
-Bob Gaboury is looking at possibilities for an on-line
meeting capability.
-There was discussion about the request for our
participation in the Celtic Fair. A committee of Bob
Gaboury/Linda Thayer-Gaboury and Allen Grizzard-Paul will
follow up and report back.
-The Camarillo Fiesta has said that they do not want Kiwanis
to pass out posters as they had a report that we had not
done a good job last year. This means that we will have to
pay for our booth space this year. We will follow up on
this. The Fiesta will be July 13-15, 2007. There is a need
for people to sign up to help with gathering and setting up
the equipment and the booth. There is also a need for
workers during the fiesta.
-HOPE of America Awards are ready to be awarded.
Volunteers are needed for this effort.

Los Colinas Middle School - Thursday June 14, 2007 -
12:30PM.
-Cecilia Rexford reported that the students have a fund
raiser at Presto Pasta on Tuesday June 5, 2007. They will
be at the June 5 meeting with flyers.
-There was concern expressed about the scholarship committee
activities. Don Medley to follow up.
Darryl Sobelman moved to adjourn, Cecilia Rexford second,
passed.
