Election Procedure for 2008 Election of Regional trustee
(Don Medley)

Don Medley reported that procedures are being put in place to elect a regional trustee.  We will be in Region 10.  The election will take place on Saturday, February 16, 2008 in Lompoc, CA.  Region 10 is made up of Divisions 24, 29, and 42.  Our Club will have at least two votes and maybe three.  The President, the immediate past President and all past Lt. Governors will have a vote.  Irish John’s name has been submitted for our Division so far.
We will be making inquires to determine if Walter Metcalf gets two votes for being both immediate past president and a former Lt. Governor and report back.

Old Business;

Fire disaster fund contribution.  (Don Medley)

Based on discussions at previous meetings we have been trying to find a needy person or project in the Santa Barbara/Ventura County areas.  Don Medley has been in touch with Lt. Governor Robinson who agreed to look into the matter and get back to us.  Item is tabled until we have more information.

Joe Dilibert concerning status of 501(c)3.

This item is on hold.  Joe Dilibert and Doug hill have been working on the project but with the efforts of Kiwanis International to secure a blanket 501(3) standing it was decided to wait the outcome of their efforts.

Anne Zachry concerning CYA school tutoring.

A meeting still needs to be coordinated with CYA staff, particularly Cynthia Brown.  Allen Grizzard-Paul said that Mary Grizzard-Paul is involved with the Club’s CYA activities and he would have her follow up on that.  Anne Zachry will contact Mary Grizzard-Paul as well to help coordinate this meeting.

New Business;

New member, Jan Edwards.  Sponsored by Cecilia Rexford. (Don Medley/Joe Dilibert/Cecilia Rexford)

Joe Dilibert has met and counseled her.  She is employed full time so will not be able to make most monthly meetings but expresses a deep desire to be involved in out project activities.  Cecilia Rexford moved she be accepted, Linda Thayer-Gaboury seconded.  Passed.

2008 B2B Trade Show.  (Don Medley)

The 2008 Business Two Business  Trade Show, sponsored by the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce will be held on February 19, 2008 from 3pm to 7pm.  A Table space will cost $125.  After discussion it was moved by Walter Metcalf, seconded by both Cecilia Rexford and Anne Zachry that our Club support exhibit and man a table.  Bob Gaboury will ask for volunteers to man the table at the 1-15-08 regular meeting.  If he gets enough support he will apply for a table.   This is a great place to meet potential new members and to gather support for the 5k-10k Race activities.

Distinguished Services Award.  (Don Medley)

A request has been received for the Club to nominate people for a Distinguished Service Award.  The award to be presented by Governor Knight at the January 24, 2008 meeting.  A committee of Bill Adams, Walter Metcalf and Don Medley was appointed to come up with a person to be honored.  They are to meet after the board meeting.

Celtic Fair & 5k-10k Race.  Solicitation deadlines?
(Bill Adams and Don Medley)

Bill Adams will meet with other principals of the fair on the evening of 1-10-2008.  There was discussion about topics to be discussed.  Bill Adams asked that Bob Gaboury add information on the 5k-10k Race application announcing that people should follow the race with a visit to the Celtic Fair.

Joe Dilibert reported that there is a great need to have a work session to make repairs to the Club food booth.  He will announce this at the next regular meeting and setup a work day and time.

Don Medley  asked about cutoff dates for ads etc concerning the race.  It was stated that the brochure usually goes to the printer approximately two weeks before the race.

Appoint a parliamentarian  (Don Medley)

Don Medley asked if a parliamentarian could be appointed to hopefully bring a little more structure to our meetings.  Joe Dilibert volunteered to serve.

Special Guest Day. (When?)  (Don Medley)

Don Medley asked if a special guest day was being planned.  After discussion it was decided that such a day should take place in May, probably Tuesday the 20th, in an evening meeting and Bill Adams will check to see if we can hold the meeting at the Camarillo Library.  Walter Metcalf will head the committee developing this activity.

Format and Content of our newsletter. (Anne Zachry)

She has a problem attending every meeting so needs regular note takers.  She moved that the newsletter become monthly and that she head a committee that collected information and notes.  Bob Gaboury seconded, passed.  A computer bulletin board was suggested, she will follow up on this.

Discussion about password on parts of website information.  (Darryl Sobelman)

Darryl Sobelman is on vacation but sent an email asking about the privacy issue when it comes to posting member names on the website.  This was discussed and it while no final decision was made, most felt that we wanted people to know we were members and as long as our address, phone numbers etc were not posted we wanted our names on the website.  This will be discussed further with Darryl.

Walter Metcalf stated that Doug Hill is a primary person along with Ted Williams for setting up and cleaning up our meeting place.  Doug is a CPA and will not be available for meetings until after tax season.  In other words Ted needs help.  We need someone to step forward to fill this need.

Builders Club ~ Las Colinas
Linda Thayer-Gaboury reported that her Builders Club had raised $1014 for the Toys-for-Tots project.
