Bill Adams and Don Medley reported an excellent meeting.  This was the 41st Kiwanis Law Day.  We invited the Camarillo recipient and his commander to join the Club at a regular meeting.  They accepted and will come as some as they can.  It was recommended that in the future we try to have more of our members at the awards meeting.

Representatives of the Ventura County Council of Boy Scouts of America will be the speakers at our June 24 meeting.  Darryl Sobelman will present them with our annual check for $1100.

There was considerable discussion about this item.  Darryl Sobelman will work with the members at the CYA.  Doug Hill will attempt to contact Elaine Thomas.  Arlene Robinson has moved so we have no address or telephone number for her.  If she does not contact us, we will terminate her membership in September.  Nellie Valentine says her dues are to be paid by Anne Zachry.  Anne Zachry will be contacted.

Other

Don Medley noted that we should support the Rose Float raffle for a chance to ride on the 2009 float.  Darryl Sobelman moved that since we have a budget entry for float support the Club should purchase 10 of the $10 tickets.  Carole Warren seconded.  During discussion it was determined that the budget amount was more than $100.  Allen Grizzard-Paul moved to amend the motion to be $180 which covered the available tickets.  Linda Thayer-Gaboury seconded.  Approved.

Don Medley presented a request received in the mail from Dedria Brunett (Miss Teen Gold Coast International) asking for support with her project to secure suitcases for children in foster care.  Darryl Sobelman and Carole Warren indicted that they had suitcases they would contribute.   Anyone else with extra suitcases they would like to contribute  please contact Don Medley.

Bob Gaboury reported that he and Linda Thayer-Gaboury had attended a Memorial Day service in Camarillo.  Bill and Loly Adams also attended.  Bob Gaboury stated that many organizations presented wreaths and moved that our Club should do the same next year.  Linda Thayer-Gaboury seconded.  After positive discussion it was decided that the motion would be tabled and included in the budget for 2008-2009.
